Porcelain Boxes
In old China, there was another sex education tool which was called a “yaxiangdi” (literal meaning “at the bottom of the truck”) It was a porcelain box on the lid and sides of which was some innocuous object such as a boat or flowers. However on the inside of the lid and the bottom of the base unit were pictures of people engaged in sexual intercourse.
Before a daughter was to be married, a mother would some times take out the “yaxiangdi” and open the lid, giving the daughter some idea of what to expect on her wedding night.
